Kitchen Questions

How do I prevent lasagna from being watery?

Use fresh chopped spinach and drain excess moisture. Avoid overusing sauce and bake until golden and bubbly.

Can I substitute other vegetables?

Yes, add sautéed mushrooms, zucchini, or bell peppers for more flavor and texture in the layers.

Is whole-wheat pasta suitable?

Whole-wheat lasagna sheets can be used for extra fiber and a nuttier taste; ensure they are no-boil for easy layering.

What cheese alternatives work well?

Try cottage cheese in place of ricotta or use part-skim mozzarella for lighter options without sacrificing creaminess.

Can the dish be prepared ahead?

Lasagna can be assembled ahead and refrigerated. Bake just before serving for fresh melted cheese on top.

What side dish pairs best?

A simple green salad with vinaigrette balances the creamy, cheesy layers for a complete meal.
