Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 g)
- Baking powder: 1 tbsp
- Baking soda: 1/2 tsp
- Salt: 1/2 tsp
- Granulated sugar: 2 tbsp
- Ground cinnamon: 2 tsp
- Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup (115 g), melted and slightly cooled
- Buttermilk: 1 cup (240 ml), cold
- Egg: 1 large
- Sharp cheddar cheese: 1 1/2 cups (150 g), shredded
- Flamin Hot Cheetos: 1 cup (25 g), finely crushed
- Granulated sugar (Topping): 1/4 cup (50 g)
- Ground cinnamon (Topping): 2 tsp
- Unsalted butter (Topping): 2 tbsp, melted
Instructions
- Prepare pan and oven:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch (23x13 cm) loaf pan and line with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
- Mix dry ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and cinnamon until combined.
- Mix wet ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter, buttermilk, and egg together.
- Combine wet and dry:
- Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in cheese and Cheetos:
- Gently fold in shredded cheddar and crushed Flamin Hot Cheetos.
- Prepare topping:
- In a small bowl, mix topping granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Layer batter:
- Scoop large spoonfuls of batter into loaf pan, layering half the cinnamon sugar topping in the middle, then finish with the remaining batter.
- Top and bake:
- Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake for 32–38 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve:
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, lift out using parchment, and cool fully before slicing.
